Enjoy this summer craft!
What child is not fascinated by sea creatures? The power of observing the natural world helps even the smallest learners to impact the environment and protect its resources.
Everyone knows that humans have the responsibility of protecting the oceans from pollution, so start talking with your child now about natural habitats and recycling waste.
In this activity, important science skills like describing textures and comparing living with non-living things, combined with math concepts like awareness of lines and shapes to morph into a fun art project that brings the ocean alive! Why not create a whole tidal pool of marine life for an afternoon of imagination? And there is always value in building small hand muscles with fine motor skills like cutting, grasping, gluing, and painting.
You can expand vocabulary and environmental awareness by talking about defending the ocean from trash, describing a crab’s home, and identifying items to be recycled.
