Art is also a wonderful tool to curb your preschooler\u2019s boredom. While the traditional methods of using art as a way to develop a child\u2019s imagination traditionally entail pulling out the crayons, markers, colored pencils, glue, and paper, the idea behind a project specifically designed to remedy boredom is to add steps that will utilize more of the child\u2019s brain. This is both fun and effective in involving your child in a process they can truly show off and be proud of.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"t-content l-container l-container__stagger-double\">\n<h3>CREATE SCULPTURES FROM ITEMS FOUND IN A SCAVENGER HUNT<\/h3>\n<figure class=\"wp-image wp-image--no-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-190000000276 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/kidsrkids.bvbeta.com\/riverstone\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/190\/2021\/08\/Untitled-design-68.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"700\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>WHAT YOU\u2019LL NEED:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>A collection bag<\/li>\n<li>A Kid-Safe, low-temp hot glue gun or another kind of fast-drying glue<\/li>\n<li>Hot glue sticks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A sculpture created from items found during a scavenger hunt is amazing fun! While the door is open for any kind of artistic interpretation, a simple way to accomplish this art project is to set out on a scavenger hunt to find things laying around, ideally in your yard or a nearby park. This could be acorns, small pebbles, leaves, or even trash like plastic bottles or aluminum cans. Don\u2019t forget a bag to collect things in!<\/p>\n<p>Once you bring the items home with you, pull out the hot glue gun and hot glue sticks and get to creating any sculpture your preschooler dreams up. If your child prefers to draw a picture on a piece of paper instead and fill in the picture with the items found, this is a wonderful alternative to a sculpture and doesn\u2019t require a hot glue gun.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>DESIGN CLOTHES<\/h3>\n<p>Does your child have clothes that they\u2019ve outgrown recently? This is a fun alternative activity to donating them if you\u2019re looking for something to keep your preschooler busy as well as keeping them creative.<\/p>\n<p>Grab the old clothes and begin thinking of ways you can redesign them. Do you have old jeans and a winter blouse that can be cut up and turned into a cute summer ensemble? What about an old outfit that can be transformed into a costume of sorts? If your preschooler has a favorite character like Batman or wants to grow up to be a firefighter, get as creative as you can to allow them the opportunity to transform unwanted, old clothes into the outfit of their dreams. This is also a fun way to incorporate other mediums like paint, cotton balls, and anything else you can think of.<\/p>\n<h3>CREATE A PICTURE QUILT<\/h3>\n<p>This activity can be done with a lot of time on hand, or in parts.<\/p>\n<h4><b>WHAT YOU\u2019LL NEED:<\/b><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Quilt pattern<\/li>\n<li>Paper<\/li>\n<li>Scissors<\/li>\n<li>Printer OR old pictures, newspaper and magazine clippings<\/li>\n<li>Glue<\/li>\n<li>Ruler<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure class=\"wp-image wp-image--no-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-190000000277 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/kidsrkids.bvbeta.com\/riverstone\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/190\/2021\/08\/kid-taking-picture.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>One way to accomplish this project is to decide on a theme first and foremost. A theme could be \u201cdog,\u201d \u201cred,\u201d \u201cland,\u201d \u201cair,\u201d \u201cmountains,\u201d \u201czoo animals,\u201d etc. Your preschooler can either take your camera and take pictures of whatever they decide to use in this project, print them out and then use those images, or they can use existing images from newspaper and magazine clippings and existing pictures. Having your preschooler take their own photos and then print them out allows them the opportunity to also play another role as an artist \u2013 a photographer.<\/p>\n<p>Once the pictures are all picked out, you\u2019ll need to print out two copies of their desired\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/freepatternsonline.com\/quiltpatterns2.htm\">quilt pattern<\/a>. As soon as your child has picked the pattern of their choice and printed the two copies out, it\u2019s time to get to cutting! Use one pattern to cut the shapes out of and the other as the blueprint. Using the cut shapes,<\/p>\n<p>trace the patterns onto the desired images. You\u2019ll then help your preschooler cut those out and glue them on the appropriate spot in the blueprint.<\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4>DRAW FROM STILL LIFE, PORTRAITURE, OR LANDSCAPES.<\/h4>\n<p>If you\u2019re looking for an easy, peaceful, and still art activity for your preschooler to do, drawing from still life, portraiture or landscapes is absolute peaceful fun. All it takes is a sketch notebook and a pencil. Allow your child the opportunity to observe fully their objects, to notice things or people around them, and then to draw them as they see them.
