We hear and see birds everywhere we go during all hours of the day (and sometimes night!). Whether you’re at the beach with the family watching seagulls trying to steal french fries, or in the city watching pigeons hopping around waste bins, birds are everywhere<\/em>. Birds can be so intriguing that we can’t help but stop and just observe.<\/p>\n

Preschoolers are naturally curious, so here are some ways you can turn their curiosities about birds into wonderful lessons.<\/p>\n

Build a bird’s nest<\/h3>\n

While not every bird builds its own nest (some steal nests from other birds!), most<\/em> birds do. Bird nests can be found almost anywhere – in trees, in corners of buildings, on light posts, under bridges, bird boxes, balconies, farm equipment, or bushes. For this activity<\/a>, gather your children and take a walk out in nature. Bring a bag with you to gather the things you’ll find.<\/p>\n
