Two things that preschoolers love: helping and creating!\u00a0How about combining those two things in the kitchen and enjoying some fun snacks together? Below are some ideas to help you and your toddler get started!<\/span><\/p>\n

Animal Faces Toast<\/span><\/h4>\n

Toast some bread and spread your favorite sticky topping on such as peanut butter, Nutella, marshmallow spread, etc.\u00a0Gather various types of fruit and berries and slice them into edible pieces.\u00a0Arrange the fruit on top of the toast to make an animal.\u00a0Some animal suggestions are bears, monkeys, and owls, but use your imagination and see what else you can come up with!<\/span><\/p>\n

Rainbow Grilled Cheese<\/span><\/h4>\n

This is just like regular grilled cheese, only prettier!\u00a0To make your cheese rainbow colors, prepare three or four small bowls of shredded mozzarella cheese.\u00a0Choose a different color of food coloring for each bowl.\u00a0Add two or three drops of food coloring to each bowl and stir around until the cheese is coated nicely.\u00a0Then, proceed to assemble and grill your sandwiches as usual.\u00a0You may add as many colors of cheese in whatever arrangement you want!<\/span><\/p>\n

Hot Dog Squids<\/span><\/h4>\n

This is a fun activity for kids because they love to poke things!\u00a0All you need are some hot dogs, spaghetti noodles, and a pot of boiling water to cook them in.\u00a0After cutting the hot dogs into two or three pieces each, allow your toddler to poke the uncooked spaghetti noodles through it long ways.\u00a0After each hot dog has been punctured, boil the hot dog and spaghetti mixture in a pot of water.\u00a0The finished product will resemble a squid!<\/span><\/p>\n

Caterpillar Fruit Kabobs<\/span><\/h4>\n

Gather wooden skewers, grapes, strawberries, and frosting.\u00a0Start by sliding grapes about 1\/3 of the way down the skewer.\u00a0Continue adding grapes until you have about an inch left at the end.\u00a0Cut the stem side of the strawberry off and slide it on the end with the cut side next to the grapes.\u00a0Finally, dot a couple of eyes on with frosting and it will be ready to enjoy!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There are many creative ideas out there that use common household ingredients, so go ahead and get creative in the kitchen with your preschooler today! You will begin to make memories with your child that will last a lifetime.<\/span><\/p>\n
