School\u2019s out! \u00a0But that doesn\u2019t mean your preschooler\u2019s education stops! \u00a0Summer is the perfect time to expand your home library, or even visit your local library! \u00a0Make a visit to your local library part of your weekly schedule, and help your child work their way up to 1000 books before kindergarten. \u00a0Checking out books at your library can help you rotate the books this summer, and then you can buy your preschooler\u2019s favorites.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here are some books to look for, at the library and online!\u00a0<\/span>Look for books that\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Build their imagination:<\/b><\/h4>\n

Help your child discover their imagination and where it can take them with the book,<\/span> If You Had a Jetpack<\/span><\/a>. \u00a0\u201c<\/span>In this charming circular story, a homemade jetpack is the catalyst for a boisterous fantasy adventure that blasts a young engineer from home, to school, on a visit to his Nana, and finally to outer space before he starts to miss his family and returns to Earth.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Teach manners:<\/b><\/h4>\n

While you\u2019re spending more time with your preschooler at home this summer, help your child remember to use their manners with Richard Scarry\u2019s classic,<\/span> Please and Thank You Book<\/span><\/a>. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Please, Mr. Panda<\/span><\/a>, will help your child ask for things they want, including a yummy donut from Mr. Panda!<\/span><\/p>\n

Teach them new words:<\/b><\/h4>\n

The Word Collector<\/span><\/a> and<\/span> Wordy Birdy<\/span><\/a> help your preschooler learn new words and how they work together. \u00a0They\u2019ll get caught up in discovering the meanings of new words and figuring out how to create a sentence from the words they will learn. \u00a0In addition, they\u2019ll learn the importance of listening in order to understand a word\u2019s meaning!<\/span><\/p>\n

Teach new habits:<\/b><\/h4>\n

Good Night Octopus<\/span><\/a> and<\/span> How to be a Big Kid<\/span><\/a> help your preschooler learn to do daily activities on their own. \u00a0Use this summer to instill these new habits in your child\u2019s routine!<\/span><\/p>\n

Make sure that your child makes time for reading every day and keep it a part of their daily schedule at home! \u00a0These books will help keep your child engaged in learning, even throughout the summer.<\/span><\/p>\n
