WEATHER POLICY

In the event of severe weather, fire, or other emergency situations, our top priority is the safety and well-being of the children under our care. We strictly adhere to the local school district’s severe weather policy. If the school district announces closure or early release due to severe weather, we will follow suit, and parents will be required to pick up their children promptly from the center.

To stay informed during severe weather, we recommend monitoring local news on radio and TV stations. Once the severe weather has passed, please contact the center to ascertain when we will resume normal operations. In case you are unable to reach us by phone, updates will be available on our website, and we will also share information through our Facebook page and email communications.

To ensure the safety of the children, we conduct monthly fire drills and severe weather drills. Familiarity with these procedures helps minimize any alarm the children may feel during an actual emergency. As part of our commitment to safety, we have an emergency preparedness plan in place, as outlined in Childcare Licensing Section 746.5201. This plan addresses staff responsibilities and facility readiness, covering a range of emergencies from natural events like tornadoes, floods, or hurricanes to health events such as medical emergencies and communicable disease outbreaks, as well as human-caused events like an intruder with a weapon, explosion, or chemical spill.

In our efforts to maintain a safe environment, our staff is trained in first aid and CPR, and we conduct regular fire and tornado drills. The local Fire Department conducts annual inspections, providing valuable recommendations for enhanced safety. Emergency evacuation plans are visibly posted in each classroom, ensuring that everyone is well-informed and prepared in the event of an evacuation. Our commitment to proactive measures underscores our dedication to providing a secure and prepared environment for all children entrusted to our care.
